30 School Buses to Serve Bikers

The policy of motorcycle ban along along Jalan Thamrin or HI Roundabout until Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat on December 17, 2014, keeps being finalized by Jakarta Provincial Government. One of the things done is preparing 30 school buses that will operate in conjunction with 10 free double-decker tour buses.

“Temporarily, 30 school buses will be converted to be operated on the lane where motorcycle ban policy is applied. Thus, a total of 40 buses will go back and forth on that lane, namely 30 school buses, 5 double-decker tour buses, and 5 buses which donated yesterday,” uttered President Director of PT Transportasi Jakarta, Antonius MS Kosasih, at City Hall, Thursday (12/11).
According to Kosasih, the school buses’ operational is only temporary because early next year they will be returned to Jakarta Transportation Department.
Motorcycle Ban on Main Roads will Be Expanded“Early next year the 70 double-decker buses we bought would arrive. So, those school buses will be returned,” he stated.
In addition to the 70 double-decker buses, Kosasih disclosed that his party will also buy 20 new TransJakarta buses type Scania next year. Later, the new buses will be operated along with 148 buses belong to the operators which still have remaining work contract since 2013.
